Human Resources Director
 

Cheshire County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Director.   

Cheshire County Government operates a 148 bed nursing home and an assisted living facility, located in Westmoreland a County House of Corrections located in Keene as well as other administrative and finance operations for the residents of Cheshire County.   Cheshire County employs nearly 450 full and part-time employees.  

The Director of Human Resources reports to the Board of County Commissioners. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing comprehensive, human resources leadership for the County and staff personnel.   

Essential job functions:

               Plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages the consistent application of personnel policies of the County, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, pay and classification, training and orientation, and discipline.
              
Assures compliance with all personnel policies, rules, regulations, and laws, including but not limited to, Family and Medical Leave Act, WC, Fair Labor Standards Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act.
              
Participate in labor negotiations, and the resolution of labor disputes, grievances, and hearings on behalf of the county.
              
Provides advice and guidance and develops strategies to provide information to managers and employees on a range of human resources topics such as employee performance, disciplinary action, wage and salary changes, benefits, and training/development. 
              
Mediates employee disputes, facilitates resolution, conducts investigation on employee issues, and assists with discipline; represents management at mediations, and similar forums. 
              
Oversees the County’s hiring process, including the preparation and/or review of job descriptions, assisting managers in preparation of job postings, advertising, and networking position vacancies; receiving, acknowledging, and screening applicants for vacancies; and coordinating the selection of candidates in concert with department heads.               

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

Duties require knowledge of human resources management equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's degree plus additional courses in related field and three to five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Receive report at the beginning of shift with nurses. 
·
        
Prepare, administer and chart oral, topical, suppository, nasal, ocular, and otc medications, as prescribed by the physician, and as directed by the delegating licensed nurse through shift assignment and Medication
Administration Record (MAR).

·
        
Document administration on the MAR.
·
        
Administer PRN medications as prescribed by the physician, only as directed by the delegating licensed nurse. Delegating licensed nurse must be available to monitor the effects on the resident.  Documents same on MAR.
