Maplewood Nursing Home

Licensed Nursing Assistant - Full Time/Various Shifts

Under the supervision of the LPN Charge Nurse or Staff Nurse, provides basic resident care and assists in the maintenance of the unit environment.

Follows facility policies and procedures and the standards of the Nurse Practice Act of New Hampshire.

Duties require knowledge of nursing assistance equivalent to completion of a high school diploma plus additional courses and up to one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be registered as a Licensed Nurse Assistant by the State of New Hampshire.



 Staff RN/LPN - Various Shifts

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or RN Supervisor, responsible for performing clinical and administrative duties on assigned floor.

Supports the Nurse Manager or RN Supervisor in maintaining standards of resident care and maintaining policies and protocols to meet OBRA regulations for long term care.

Duties require knowledge of nursing equivalent to completion of an applicable Nursing Program.

Must be licensed by the State of New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
Must be thoroughly oriented to all facility policies and agree to comply with all facility policies.
Must attend mandatory in-services and retain registration with the State of New Hampshire.
 


MNA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the charge nurse, assists with routine prescribed medication administration and documentation in accordance with established nursing standards, and the policies, procedures, and practices of this facility.  Administers PRN medications upon the instruction of the delegating licensed nurse. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·        Receive report at the beginning of shift with nurses. 
·
       
Prepare, administer and chart oral, topical, suppository, nasal, ocular, and otc medications, as prescribed by the physician, and as directed by the delegating licensed nurse through shift assignment and Medication Administration Record (MAR).
·
       
Document administration on the MAR.
·
       
Administer PRN medications as prescribed by the physician, only as directed by the delegating licensed nurse. Delegating licensed nurse must be available to monitor the effects on the resident.  Documents same on MAR. 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

·        Duties require knowledge of nursing assistance equivalent to completion of a high school diploma plus additional courses and up to one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
·
       
Must be registered as a Licensed Nurse Assistant by the State of New Hampshire.
·
       
Must have successfully completed a state approved Medication Nursing Assistant Program.

Under the supervision of the Food Services Director, responsible for providing assistance with the preparation, set-up, and serving of scheduled meals.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·        Obtains food and supplies as instructed.
·       
Performs cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining room; gathers dirty dishes from the resident floors; scrapes dishes, loads dishwashing machine; and puts away clean dishes.  Ensures a sanitized and clean environment.
·       
Works on the tray line; cuts up breakfast tickets.
·       
Assists in serving meals and loading food.
·      
Assists in setting up dining room, including setting up juices, butters, desserts, and breakfast and lunch specials for the following day.

Cheshire County Administration department is hiring a Per Diem Receptionist at the Nursing Home. Under the supervision of the Executive Assistant, responsible for answering and dispatching telephone calls and welcoming Maplewood Nursing Home visitors.

 

Job Functions – include but not limited to:

·        Answers and routes incoming telephone calls, taking messages, giving information, or directing calls to appropriate Nursing Home staff, as necessary.
·       
Greets Maplewood Nursing Home visitors; directs them to the appropriate location.
·       
Responds to general inquiries concerning Nursing Home activities and operations by following established policies and procedures; is familiar with emergency procedures.
·       
Sorts mail and places in appropriate mailboxes; labels newspapers for residents.
·       
Handles petty cash and postage stamp transactions, balances, and stamp orders.
·       
Greets new admissions and notifies departments and staff of new arrivals, prepares resident I.D. bands, and tracks admissions, discharges, room changes for receptionist follow-up.
·       
Distributes keys for Nursing Home automobiles; maintains related logs and schedules.
·       
Uses computer for in-house email, work orders, and meeting room and vehicle schedules.
·       
Distributes paychecks to employees; accepts packages from various delivery services.
·       
Performs other related duties as required, including monthly tasks for Nursing Department. 

Skills/Experience/Training required:

 

·        Duties require knowledge of receptionist skills equivalent to completion of a high school diploma and up to one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of both.

·        Ability to operate telephone switchboard and paging system calmly, rapidly, and accurately.
·       
Ability to use computer, copier, printer, postage meter, and miscellaneous office machines.
·       
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, residents, and the general public.

Will be responsible for:
