Cheshire County Employee Benefits Summary

Vacation Pay
0 to 5 years of service = 2 weeks per year *
5 to 10 years of service = 3 weeks per year
10 – 14 years of service = 4 weeks per year
15 – 19 years of service = 4.5 weeks per year
25 plus years of service = 5 weeks per year

Holiday Pay – 11 paid holidays

Sick Pay – Accumulates at a rate of 2 weeks per year *

Health Insurance
For employees working 30 or more hours, County pays 82-84%, employee pays 16-18% ***
Employee – $69.77 twice monthly = $139.54 monthly
Employee/Child(ren) – $142.80 twice monthly = $285.60 monthly
Employee/Spouse – $190.36 twice monthly = $380.72 monthly
Family – $219.92 twice monthly = $439.84 monthly

Opt out benefit of up to $450.00 in a Medical Flexable Spending Account available for employees opting out of County Health Insurance (amount would be reduced depending on choice of adding free Dental and or free Life Insurance)

Dental Insurance
For employees working 30 or more hours, County pays a portion, employee pays a portion ***
Employee – $6.03 twice monthly = $12.06 monthly
Employee/Child(ren) – $21.99 twice monthly = $43.98 monthly
Employee/Spouse – $20.27 twice monthly = $40.54 monthly
Family – $35.32 twice monthly = $70.64 monthly

Complementary Medicine Benefit
Employees enrolled in County Health plan, eligible for up to $350.00 per calender year after a $20.00 co-payment per visit.

Jury Duty – County pays the difference in wages

Life Insurance – For employees working 30 or more hours, $10,000 free for employee,
with employee option to purchase additional amount **

Meals – Cheshire County provides meals free of charge to all employees in Westmoreland and at the Department of Corrections

Military Leave of Absence – County pays the difference in wages less 5% if activated (maximum of 5 years)

Perfect Attendance Bonus – Quarterly incentives for perfect attendance *

Short Term Disability – For employees working 30 or more hours, no cost to employee,
with employee option to purchase long term disability **

State Retirement
Employees working 35 or more hours must participate:
Employees 7% pre-tax contribution, 10 year retirement
Correctional Officers (in group II), Sheriff Deputies. 11.55% pre-tax contribution, 20 year retirement
Service time will be carried over from any NH state wide agency participating in the program.

Tuition Reimbursement – Up to $2,700 per year for courses meeting selected criteria

Deferred Compensation – All full time employees may put money into this type of retirement program pre-tax.

Direct Deposit – Employees may opt to have their paycheck deposited into a bank or banks of their choice.
